Accessibility statement

Version 2026-10 · Last reviewed: 23 October 2026

  • Goal: meet WCAG 2.2 level AA (European standard EN 301 549).
  • Status: partially conformant. Public pages pass automated tests; inside the app there are known issues, already being fixed.
  • If there's something you can't use, write to kultura.app.contacto@gmail.com and I'll give you an alternative.

I want KULTURA (kulturaapp.vercel.app) to be usable with a keyboard, a screen reader, magnification or any other way of access. This statement explains where it stands.

1. Conformance status

KULTURA is partially conformant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA, as included in the European standard EN 301 549, because of the issues listed below.

2. Content that is not yet accessible

Known issues in the signed-in app:

  • Some pop-up dialogs (create list, change status, invite friends, recommend) don't yet keep keyboard focus inside or return it when they close (WCAG 2.4.3 and 4.1.2).
  • Some form fields have no associated label or don't announce their errors to screen readers (1.3.1, 3.3.1 and 4.1.2).
  • Star ratings can't be operated with the arrow keys and don't always show focus (2.1.1 and 2.4.7).
  • Search suggestions aren't announced as a list of options (4.1.2).
  • Some close buttons (×) are smaller than 24 × 24 pixels (2.5.8).

Outside my control: synopses and covers come from third-party catalogs and are sometimes only in their original language; each cover is described by its title. Trailers use the YouTube player, with its own captions and controls.

3. What already works

  • A “Skip to content” link and a structure of headings and landmarks on every page.
  • The home page animation can be paused and doesn't play if your system asks to reduce motion.
  • The whole interface in Spanish and English, with each page's language declared.
  • Home page, rankings, public profiles, sign-in and legal pages with no errors in automated tests.

4. How it was assessed

Self-assessment by the owner on 22 October 2026: automated tests with axe-core 4.10 at 390 and 1440 pixels wide on the home page, rankings, public profile, sign-in and legal pages, plus a manual review of the signed-in app's code. It hasn't been tested yet with people who use screen readers; that's planned.

5. Feedback and requests

If you find a barrier or need content in another format, write to kultura.app.contacto@gmail.com saying which page and what happened. I reply within 20 working days at most.

6. If you're not satisfied

If my answer doesn't solve it, you can contact the Office for Disability Assistance (OADIS) of the Spanish Ministry of Social Rights, which handles enquiries and complaints about equal opportunities and accessibility.

7. Preparation of this statement

Statement prepared on 23 October 2026. I update it whenever an issue on the list is fixed and at least once a year.
